Chimaira. New album finished. Ready For Release.
Criminally underrated American metalers Chimaira have completed their latest album entitled “The Infection”. The new tunes are scheduled for release in North America on April 21st through Ferret Music. Chimaira is waiting for final approval from the label before releasing any preview songs. Chimaira hit the national scene with their Roadrunner Records debut “Pass Out Of Existence”. This album put them on the scene as one of the new powerhouses of metal at the time but due to not enough label support or just getting caught up in the wash of an over saturated metal scene at the time Chimaira just seemed to get lost in the shuffle. since 2001 they have bounced around a couple of different labels with their releases and it is an absolute shame that this band hasn’t had the commercial success of some of their peers. Since 2001’s “Pass Out Of Existence” Chimaira has released “The Impossibility Of Reason” in 2003, Self Titled “Chimaira” in 2005, and their first Ferret Music release in 2007 “Resurrection”. Chimaira have progressed into a better band with every release in my opinion. Every album is listenable all the way through with nothing that can really be considered filler material. Chimaira for whatever reason have not had the commercial push and success of many less talented bands that are on top of the scene these days. They have all the ingredients to be on top of the heap if someone would just help them get there. They are a very , very aggressive sounding band that can run the table from death metal style, to progressive to straight metalcore and have one of the most solid vocalists of my generation of metal in Mark Hunter. Maybe this new album will be the one that gets Chimaira their due. They get better with every album it seems, so this one has some serious potential and i cant wait to hear some previews when they get released. Stay on the lookout. Release date is April 21st. Should be able to find it on all I Tunes stores and pretty much any music store that is still open for business.
