So fresh off of what looks like a smart career move, Steven Adler the crazy ass heroin and everything else addict a lot of you have come to know from Celebrtiy Rehab is taking his band Adler’s Appetite on its first full U.S. tour. Who is Addler? I am sure a few might wonder this and dont know a lot about the guy other than the fact that you saw him on Celebrity rehab and learned that he can’t move his face correctly or talk real well because he took so much cocaine at one point that he stroked his self out. That’s pretty hard core drug doing right there. Anyways, Adler is also the original drummer for the late great Guns N Roses. He was kicked out of the band in 1990 for doing to many drugs and screwing up to much and sometimes not even showing to play. It takes a pretty big drug problem to get kicked out of Guns N Roses in 1990. Adler has never really gotten over the GnR dream and is still trying to live the dream today with one of the most horribly named bands ever. I dont want that to sound like i am completely knocking the guy because he really was a bad ass drummer and he is a HUGE part of the sound on Appetite for Destruction, his choice in band names just sounds cheesey and way to desperate to be recognized….and the fact that band plays almost nothing but GnR songs. How about writing some new tunes with a different name and trying make something original. The really interesting thing is this though, Adler hasn’t been in GnR in almost 20 years,but by taking this band out on tour and playing Appetite for Destruction he is doing more to promote the band than actual GnR front man Axl Rose is at this point. There aren’t even any definite tour plans for the actual Guns but it’s funny because when Axl takes his so called GnR out on the road there will be 2 versions of the same band out on the road doing a lot of the same material, and in my opinion if it werent for legal issues Adler would have every much of a right to call his band Guns n Roses as Axl does. If you count original members, Adler’s band has just as many as Axl’s version does. Kinda funny really. Adler’s appetite even has some members that have been in that band longer than some of the guys have been in the current form of GnR. I don’t know, this whole Adler’s Appetite tour just throws so much more entertainment for me into the whole GnR circus going on right now. So about that tour,no dates or locations yet but it is said to kick off in late February and run through late April. Looks like Adler may get something out of being on Celebrity Rehab after all even if it wasn’t getting clean.
