Louisiana super group and overall Southern Metal Kings,Down have announced and confirmed what should be one of the best tours of the year. Down will be joined by Hank III and those two acts alone are enough to make for a killer show, but they step it up a notch and are also bringing weed metal kings Weedeater and another band from my own personal home state in the form of Evil Army from Memphis Tennessee. The tour is scheduled for February and March of 2009. Exact dates and locations will be announced soon and i will post them when they come out. This is a powerhouse tour that will be a good way to get the early part of the year started.
If you are reading this and you love metal and you have not yet discovered Gojira …….Well, leave this page now and do yourself a massive favor and listen to them as fast as you can. They are a French powerhouse. Yes I said French. Somehow France did figure out how to produce one of the most talented metal bands i have had the pleasure to listen to. Gojira have been around for a bit but really hit in the States with the release of their album From Mars To Sirius a couple of years back. There are way to many things they did right on this album to list them all but the outstanding production and absolutely punishing drums really stuck out. There is really nothing done wrong on this album and these guys are some seriously talented players. Its one of my top favorite albums of the last several years and i really didn’t expect them to be able to follow it with anything that could compare. I was wrong. Very recently the guys of Gojira delivered us all a present in the form of their new release The Way Of All Flesh. Once again they delivered with spot on production and the drums and guitars are once again just flat out punishing. Gojira have a sound that really isn’t comparable to any other bands on the mainstream of metal right now and the production and studio work they put in just completely separates them from the pack. Once you hear this band you absolutely will not mistake them for anyone else when you hear them again. I highly recommend you check out the new release and definitely urge you to get out and pick up their last release From Mars to Sirius as well. You will not regret the purchase and your ears will thank you. Check them out now.
